1. A method to control formation of a biofilm in an aqueous industrial manufacturing environment comprising cellulosic fibers and having a temperature of at least 40° C., the method comprising a step of continuously or periodically adminstering to the aqueous environment a composition comprising 3-[(4-methylphenyl)sulphonyl]-2-propenenitrile as an active compound wherein the aqueous industrial manufacturing environment is an aqueous environment in manufacturing paper, board, pulp, tissue, or non-woven or viscose.
