1. A method for a wireless receiver to receive and demodulate a message, the method comprising:
a) receiving the message;
b) receiving or determining a modulation scheme comprising amplitude modulation according to integer Namp predetermined amplitude levels, the Namp predetermined amplitude levels comprising one zero-power amplitude level and Namp-1 non-zero-power amplitude levels; and
c) demodulating the message according to the modulation scheme;
d) wherein a particular amplitude level of the Namp-1 non-zero-power amplitude levels has a smallest magnitude of the Namp-1 non-zero-power amplitude levels, and the particular amplitude level is at least 10 times larger than a magnitude of the zero-power amplitude level.
