1. An electronic device comprising:
a transceiver; and
a processor configured to:
send, via the transceiver, a first packet to a first device;
determine whether the first device is configured for sending an acknowledgement (ACK) packet according to a first ACK mode;
determine a threshold number of packets to trigger an ACK response by the first device, wherein a transmission burst of packets comprises the first packet;
in response to determining that the first device is configured according to the first ACK mode and to the transmission burst of packets having less than the threshold number of packets,
send, via the transceiver, an additional packet, as part of the transmission burst of packets, for triggering the first device to send the ACK packet, and
receive, via the transceiver, the ACK packet in response to the additional packet; and
in response to determining that the first device is not configured according to the first ACK mode, not send the additional packet.
