1. A method comprising:
providing data to an ultra-wideband (UWB) transmitter comprising a controller circuit for transmission by the ultra-wideband (UWB) transmitter; wherein
the data for transmission by the UWB transmitter has been encoded with a process comprising merging at least a first pulse N-bit pulse position modulation (PPM) symbol with a second pulse N-bit PPM symbol to generate an R-pulse 2N-bit Encoded Bundle Pulse Modulation (EBPM) symbol;
R and N are positive integers greater than or equal to 2; and
the R-pulse 2N-bit EBPM symbol encodes the 2N-bits into the same number of pulses as employed for each N-bit PPM symbol.
