1. A method of phenotyping Vibrio parahaemolyticus as non-virulent, the method comprising:
providing a sample comprising shrimp culture water;
utilizing antibodies or fragments thereof that bind to alkaline phosphatase Phox enzyme of V. parahaemolyticus to phenotype the V. parahaemolyticus as non-virulent; and
culturing the shrimp without disease-mitigation treatment if the V. parahaemolyticus are phenotyped as non-virulent.
