1. A lab-on-a-chip system, comprising:
an optical detection waveguide that has an at least partially periodic structure that is configured to couple light from surroundings of the optical detection waveguide into the optical detection waveguide, and
a microfluidic network, wherein the microfluidic network has multiple lines and at least one reaction chamber,
wherein the lab-on-a-chip system is configured such that the at least one reaction chamber of the microfluidic network is able to be arranged in the surroundings of the optical detection waveguide and light from the surroundings of the optical detection waveguide in which the at least one reaction chamber is located is coupled into the optical detection waveguide.
