1. A method performed at a wellsite, the method comprising:
providing a mud pump assembly at the wellsite, the mud pump assembly including a mud pump, a mud source, a first suction line and a first discharge line, wherein the first suction line and the first discharge line are coupled to the mud pump, the first suction line is configured to supply mud, cementing fluid, and clearing fluid to the mud pump and the first discharge line is configured to discharge mud, cementing fluid, and clearing fluid from the mud pump, and wherein:
the mud source is coupled to the first suction line;
crossover piping is coupled to the first suction line; and
a cementing fluid source and a clearing fluid source are coupled to the crossover piping;
operating the mud pump to perform a mud pumping operation by pumping the mud downhole during drilling of a borehole, wherein the mud is supplied to the mud pump via the first suction line and is pumped downhole by the first discharge line;
clearing the mud from the mud pump assembly by supplying the clearing fluid to the mud pump via the crossover piping and the first suction line; and
subsequently operating the mud pump to perform a cementing operation by pumping the cementing fluid downhole to cement casing in the borehole, wherein the cementing fluid is supplied to the mud pump via the crossover piping and the first suction line, thus utilizing the same mud pump to pump the mud for the mud pumping operation and to pump the cementing fluid for the cementing operation.
