1. A venom-based peptide

having an amino acid sequence consisting essentially of WCYKLPDRVSI-X12-X13-X14-G-X16-CN;

wherein

X12 is K or E;

X13 is R or E;

X14 is R or K; and

X16 is R or K; and

wherein the venom-based peptide is 18 amino acids in length.
