1. A solid state delivery system, comprising:
a first housing defining a first interior and having an inlet for coupling the interior to a source of at least one of heat or a reactant and an outlet configured to permit gas to exit the first interior;
a second housing defining a second interior having a hydrogen storage solid; and
a dividing plane separating the first interior from the second interior and having at least one port between the first interior and the second interior blocked by at least one deformable plug;
wherein the at least one deformable plug is configured to be selectably deformed to open the at least one port, fluidly coupling the first interior and the second interior, and wherein when the at least one of heat or reactant is introduced to the first interior via the inlet and when the at least one deformable plug is deformed to open the at least one port, hydrogen gas is supplied to the outlet.
