1. A power supply system comprising:
a first battery string configured to provide power at a first voltage;
a second battery string configured to provide power at a second voltage;
a transformer configured to receive power at the first voltage from the first battery string, and configured to receive power at the second voltage from the second battery string, and configured to transform the first and second voltage to a single voltage output;
wherein the transformer comprises at least two separate inputs and a combined output, and wherein the first battery string and the second battery string are electrically coupled to a respective input of the at least two separate inputs, wherein the at least two separate inputs are configured to simultaneously receive power at the first and the second voltages, and the single voltage output is produced at the combined output by transforming the simultaneously received power;
a drive system; and
a relay configured to selectively couple the first battery string and the second battery string to deliver power to the drive system at a voltage equal to a sum of the first voltage and the second voltage.

9. A vehicle comprising:
a power supply system comprising:
a first battery string configured to provide power at a first voltage;
a second battery string configured to provide power at a second voltage;
a transformer configured to receive power at the first voltage from the first battery string, and configured to receive power at the second voltage from the second battery string, and configured to transform the first and second voltage to a single voltage output;
wherein the transformer comprises at least two separate inputs, and a combined output, and wherein the first battery string and the second battery string are electrically coupled to a respective input of the at least two separate inputs, wherein the at least two separate inputs are configured to simultaneously receive power at the first and the second voltages, and the single voltage output is produced at the combined output by transforming the simultaneously received power;
a drive system; and
a relay configured to selectively couple the first battery string and the second battery string to deliver power to the drive system at a voltage equal to a sum of the first voltage and the second voltage.

10. A method for supplying a low-voltage direct current output from at a high-voltage battery system, the method comprising:
providing a first power output from a first battery string configured to provide power at a first voltage;
providing a second power output from a second battery string configured to provide power at a second voltage;
providing a transformer coupled to both the first battery string and the second battery string, wherein the transformer receives power at the first voltage from the first battery string and also receives power at the second voltage from the second battery string, and transforms the first and second voltage to a single voltage output, wherein the transformer comprises at least two separate inputs, and a combined output, and wherein the first battery string and the second battery string are electrically coupled to a respective input of the at least two separate inputs, wherein the at least two separate inputs are configured to simultaneously receive power at the first and the second voltages, and the single voltage output is produced at the combined output by transforming the simultaneously received power;
providing a drive system; and
providing a relay configured to selectively couple the first battery string and the second battery string to deliver power to the drive system at a voltage equal to a sum of the first voltage and the second voltage.
