1. A method, comprising:
(a) introducing a plurality of cells into a fluidic device;
(b) introducing one or more polymer precursors into the fluidic device; and
(c) using a virtual photomask to selectively apply light to the fluidic device to polymerize the one or more polymer precursors, thereby selectively encapsulating a cell of the plurality of cells in the fluidic device.
