1. A patient support system comprising:
a patient support apparatus including a patient support surface for supporting a patient;
a user interface positionable at a plurality of different positions in proximity to the patient support apparatus, the user interface configured to receive input from a caregiver at the plurality of different positions;
a display facing away from the patient support surface and configured to display caregiver user menus comprising indicia representative of one or more operational functions of the patient support apparatus;
a locating system configured to determine a position of the user interface with respect to the patient support apparatus and transmit a position input signal based on the position; and
a controller in communication the locating system, the user interface, and the display, the controller being configured to:
receive the position input signal from the locating system,
determine a position-based caregiver user menu based on the position input signal and generate an updated display output signal representative of the position-based caregiver user menu, and
transmit the updated display output signal to the display to display the position-based caregiver user menu.
