1. Method for applying absorbing inserts in a process for the production of pull-up diapers, comprising:
producing a composite elastic web comprising at least one web of material and at least one elastic element longitudinally coupled to said at least one web of material; wherein the composite elastic web has a nominal maximum elongation corresponding to a nominal width of the pull-up diapers to be manufactured; wherein, when the composite elastic web is at its nominal maximum elongation, said at least one web of material is fully extended and said at least one elastic element has a first percentage elastic elongation;
feeding the composite elastic web along a path and according to an advancing direction, conferring to said elastic composite web an application tension such that the composite elastic web has an elongation lower than its nominal maximum elongation and said at least one elastic element has a second percentage elastic elongation lower than the first percentage elastic elongation;
applying absorbing inserts on an intermediate portion of the composite elastic web when said composite elastic web advances with said application tension, so that, once the tension is completely released, the absorbing inserts remain substantially flat and do not form substantial folds or wrinkles.
