1. An aerosol-generating device comprising:
a liquid storage section configured to hold a first aerosol-forming substrate, the first aerosol-forming substrate being a liquid substrate;
a power supply section configured to supply electrical power for the aerosol-generating device;
a flange;
a device air inlet; and
a removable cover having a first end that is partially closed and includes a cover air outlet,
the liquid storage section configured to removably couple with the power supply section such that outer surfaces of the liquid storage section and the power supply section collectively define at least one element of the flange and the device air inlet, the flange being formed based on a diameter of an end of the power supply section being larger than a diameter of an end of the liquid storage section,
wherein
the aerosol-generating device is configured to couple with a cartridge such that the cartridge abuts the flange and at least partially overlies the device air inlet, the cartridge including a second aerosol-forming substrate, and
the device air inlet is on the flange so that an end of the cartridge abuts the device air inlet based on the cartridge abutting the flange, the removable cover being configured to engage with the aerosol-generating device and overlay the cartridge based on the aerosol-generating device coupling with the cartridge.
