1. A method of operating an electronic device comprising:
using a display to present first content in a graphical user interface window and second content in a portion of the display separate from the graphical user interface window, wherein the display is operable between at least a first frame rate and a second frame rate different than the first frame rate;
determining a location of focus of a user;
in response to determining that the location of focus is within the graphical user interface window, displaying the first content and the second content at the first frame rate; and
in response to determining that the location of focus is in the portion of the display separate from the graphical user interface window, displaying the first content and the second content at the second frame rate.
