1. A power amplifier comprising:
amplifier circuitry configured to amplify a signal to be transmitted by an antenna; and
a metamaterial output matching circuit connected between the amplifier circuitry and the antenna, the metamaterial output matching circuit configured to present different impedance values based on a frequency of the signal, the metamaterial output matching circuit including a first metamaterial transmission line connected between the amplifier circuitry and the antenna, and a second metamaterial transmission line connected to the first metamaterial transmission line as a stub, the power amplifier, in combination with a low noise amplifier circuit that includes a metamaterial input matching circuit, further configured to form a duplexer without the inclusion of a passive duplexer circuit.
