1. A head joint for a transverse flute of the type having a first leg, the first leg including an embouchure, and a second leg that are connectable to a tube of the transverse flute, the tube including a key mechanism, the head joint comprising:
a joint connecting the first leg to the second leg such that the two legs are arranged at an angle to one another;
wherein the tube is an extension of second leg; and
wherein the angle formed inside a physical elongation of the two legs is an acute angle.
