1. A source and sensor acoustic wave system, the system comprising:
an acoustic device operably coupled to operate as a source and a detector of acoustic waves; and
a drive-sense circuit (DSC) operably coupled to the acoustic device via a single line, wherein, when enabled, the DSC configured to:
provide an acoustic drive signal, via the single line, to the acoustic device to facilitate the acoustic device to operate as the source during a first time and to facilitate the acoustic device to operate as the detector during a second time and simultaneously sense, via the single line, a first effect on the acoustic drive signal during the acoustic device operating as the source and a second effect on the acoustic drive signal during the acoustic device operating as the detector; and
generate a digital signal representative of the first effect on the acoustic drive signal during the acoustic device operating as the source and the second effect on the acoustic drive signal during the acoustic device operating as the detector.
