1. A method comprising:
receiving a check-in from a first user for a first charging session, wherein the first user is associated with a first electric vehicle, wherein the check-in comprises a request comprising a parameter, and wherein the check-in involves an interaction between a first mobile device of the first user and a first electric vehicle charger;
determining a power distribution type for the first charging session, based upon the parameter;
in response to the check-in, causing the first electric vehicle charger to charge the first electric vehicle according to the power distribution type.
