1. A device for monitoring one or more physiological parameters, the device comprising:
a flexible first layer having a top side and a patient side, the flexible first layer comprising one or more sensors and an adhesive layer attached to the patient side; and
a rigid second layer having a top side and a patient side, the rigid second layer comprising one or more circuit components and the rigid second layer being disposed floating relative to the flexible first layer; and
a mechanical and electrical micro-connector being both a mechanical connector and an electrical connector and being connected perpendicularly to both the top side of the flexible first layer and the patient side of the rigid second layer and connecting both the flexible first layer and the rigid second layer to each other both mechanically and electrically, the mechanical and electrical micro-connector also being a mechanical hinge point making electrical communication between and connecting the rigid second layer in spaced relationship to the top side of the flexible first layer mechanically and electrically directly providing for
mechanical hinge movability between the flexible first layer and the rigid second layer, and,
electrical communication between the flexible first layer and the rigid second layer.
