1. An imaging apparatus comprising:
an imaging element;
a mechanism capable of changing a relative position between the imaging element and an object image; and
at least one memory storing instructions; and at least one processor that, upon execution of the stored instructions cause the at least one processor to:
estimate a degree of deterioration through time for each region of the imaging element;
acquire a luminance value of a screen corresponding to a first region that is the region in which the degree exceeds a predetermined first threshold, as a first luminance value;
calculate, in a case where the first luminance value exceeds a predetermined first luminance value in a luminance value distribution of an entire screen corresponding to the imaging element, a first control amount of the mechanism in which an object having the predetermined first luminance value or less is allocated to the first region based on the luminance value distribution, and
control the mechanism based on the first control amount.
