1. An auto configuring lighting control system comprising:
a plurality of devices operatively coupled over a network infrastructure, the plurality of devices each configured to operate in a zero configuration mode and further configured to store:
a restricted configuration file containing data identifying a device of the plurality of devices, and
one or more complete configuration files containing data identifying the device and one or more controllable parameters that control performance of the device, and
wherein a first device of the plurality of devices is configured as a server source of control data and content data for other devices of the plurality of devices, wherein the first device of the plurality of devices configured as the server source periodically requests each of the other devices of the plurality of devices to provide a respective restricted configuration file and complete configuration file,
wherein at least one of the other devices of the plurality of devices comprises a multifunction device having multiple separately controllable sub-devices associated therewith, each sub-device having respective one or more controllable parameters, wherein a complete configuration file of the multifunction device contains data identifying the respective one or more controllable parameters of each separate sub-device associated with the multifunction device.
