1. A method for counting a number of persons at a predefined location, the method comprising:
receiving a time series of images taken by one or more cameras mounted at a transportation vehicle;
and performing for each image the following steps of:
detect one or more persons in the received image,
place a boundary box around each detected person, and
provide a window of interest in the image and apply a filtering condition for selecting each boundary box in the window of interest that matches the filtering condition;
wherein the method further comprises:
track each selected boundary box in the window of interest in all received images and count the number of persons based on comparisons between the detected persons in the selected boundary boxes, and
wherein the filtering condition is a ratio of an area of a boundary box which intersects with the window of interest and an area of the window of interest, and wherein the filtering condition is defined to be met when a value of the ratio is equal to or larger than a minimum value.
