1. A method comprising:
illuminating with a light source a cell of a sample to elicit fluorescence emissions of a plurality of fluorophores associated with the cell;
detecting the fluorescence from the cell to obtain fluorescence intensity data in a plurality of photodetector channels corresponding to the plurality of fluorophores in a temporal space;
generating a raw image comprising complex values in a frequency space from the plurality of channels of fluorescence intensity data; and
generating an unmixed image in the frequency space from the raw image based on the corresponding complex values of the raw image.
