1. A pitch composition suitable for spinning comprising:
a pitch having a softening point temperature (Tsp) of 400° C. or less, and an oxidation onset temperature (OOT) at least 10° C. below the Tsp at a ramp rate of 10° C./min,
wherein the pitch comprises a mesophase content of more than 5 vol %, based on the total volume of the pitch.
