1. A multitool (12) with locking multipurpose driver, the multitool (12) comprising:
a plier head (22) and first and second handles (18 and 20);
the plier head (22) having opposing first and second plier halves (24 and 26) which pivot at a central pivot (46) to open and close when the multitool (12) is in an open position;
each of the first and second handles (18 and 20) extend from the first and second plier halves (24 and 26) at plier-to-handle pivots (28);
a tool shaft (14) is disposed on the second handle (20) at a handle-to-tool shaft pivot (34) disposed on the second handle (20) opposite the plier head (22), wherein
the tool shaft (14) extends outward of the handle-to-tool shaft pivot (34), and
stows into the outer side of the second handle (20);
wherein the tool shaft (14) has a mating profile (80) which engages a complimentary mating profile (48) formed at an opposing pivot (32) on the first handle (18) opposite the plier head (22) and locks the tool shaft (14) by closing the first and second handles (18 and 20) with the tool shaft (14); and
the tool shaft (14) is positioned and extends from a center of the first and second handles (18 and 20) when closed.
