A urinary pumping device for generating a fluid flow through an urethra of a patient, the urinary pumping device comprising: a toilet seat equipped with an activation arrangement that comprises a pushing member and a drive coupled to the pushing member, said pushing member being configured to induce direct intermittent compression and release of the urethra by physically pressing urethra's neighbouring tissue, wherein
the activation arrangement is mounted to the toilet seat such that, when the patient is sitting on the toilet seat,
the urethra of the patient is accessible to the pushing member to intermittently compress and release the urethra by means of the pushing member, the urinary pumping device further comprising a control unit configured to control the drive such that a periodic compression and release of the urethra is generatable by the pushing member at a predefined frequency and, optionally, a predefined amplitude, a predefined pressure, a predefined force and/or a predefined duty cycle.
