1. A hemostasis device, comprising:
a hemostasis valve including:
a first substantially toroidal portion defining a first plurality of slits, wherein the first substantially toroidal portion includes a first outer region that projects axially outwardly in a first direction, and a first, central recessed region; and
second substantially toroidal portion defining a second plurality of slits wherein the second substantially toroidal portion includes a second outer region that projects axially outwardly in a second direction that is opposite to the first direction, and a second, central recessed region,
wherein the first substantially toroidal portion is opposite the second substantially toroidal portion within the hemostasis valve such that the first plurality of slits axially face the second plurality of slits to enable passage of a medical device therethrough.
