1. An injector comprising:
a housing having an activation end and an injection end disposed opposite to and inline with the activation end; and
a palm button device disposed at the activation end of the housing, the palm button device depressible to allow activation of the injector with the palm of an operator's hand, the palm button device comprising:
a palm-operated button having a surface which is sized and configured for accommodating the palm of the operator's hand;
a mounting arrangement for operatively coupling the device to the activation end of the housing of the injector, the mounting arrangement comprising a base extending from the palm-operated button and an adaptor slidably coupled to the base, the adaptor surrounding only a portion of the housing at the activation end; and
a biasing device causing activation of the injector when the palm-operated button is moved to a depressed position and independently returning the palm-operated button from the depressed position to an undepressed position using stored energy of the biasing device.
