1. An intraocular lens (IOL) injector plunger comprising:
a plunger tip formed at a distal end of the plunger and adapted to contact an IOL and axially move the IOL in response to a first force applied to the plunger; and
a first and a second member disposed on opposite lateral sides of the plunger tip, each of the first and second members having:
a concave inner surface adapted to contact an edge of the IOL,
a proximal end coupled to the plunger, and
a distal end forming a tip, wherein:
the plunger is movably coupled within an injector body of an IOL injector, the injector body comprising a delivery channel;
in a first configuration, the first and second members are laterally splayed such that the tip of the first member is adapted to contact a first end of a first haptic of the IOL in an uncompressed configuration, and the tip of the second member is adapted to contact a second end of a second haptic of the IOL in the uncompressed configuration; and
in response to a second force applied to outer lateral surfaces of the first and second members, the first and second members are adapted to flex toward one another to adopt a second configuration wherein the first and second members guide the IOL in the uncompressed configuration to adopt a compressed configuration.
