1. A method for quantifying a metric indicative of a condition of cardiac tissue in an electrogram, comprising:
receiving, using a mapping system, electrogram data from one or more electrodes;
processing, using one or more processors, the electrogram data to obtain a noise threshold level in a portion of an electrogram before a depolarization wave, based on a maximum noise level and a minimum noise level of a second derivative of the electrogram, wherein the maximum noise level and the minimum noise level are calculated from the second derivative of the electrogram, and wherein the noise threshold level of a difference of the maximum noise level and the minimum noise level multiplied by a safety factor;
identifying, using the one or more processors, extrema of the electrogram that exceed the obtained noise threshold level; and
generating, using the one or more processors, a fractionation metric comprising a count of the identified extrema;
displaying, using a graphical user interface, the fractionation metric mapped to at least a corresponding anatomical location.
