1. The portable panel assembly comprising: A portable panel assembly configured to be operably attached to a vehicle for advancement in a forward direction, said portable panel assembly comprising:
a chassis including an elongated frame extending longitudinally along the forward direction; and
opposed sets of panels positioned to extend longitudinally along respective sides of the frame in a stored condition, with the frame configured to support the opposed sets of panels when the portable panel assembly is advanced in the forward direction by the vehicle,
said chassis further including a shiftable rack supported by the frame and configured to removably engage and support at least one of the opposed sets of panels in the stored condition,
said shiftable rack including upper and lower rack arms receiving therebetween said at least one of the opposed sets of panels in the stored condition, with the shiftable rack engaging said at least one of the opposed sets of panels and restricting lateral movement thereof out of engagement with the shiftable rack; and
a support structure including an upright and laterally-extending cross members fixed to the upright,
said upper and lower rack arms being pivotally supported relative to the upright at rack pivot joints and having unsupported ends positioned outboard of the rack pivot joints in the stored condition,
said upper and lower rack arms having at least one of the laterally-extending cross members located therebetween.
