1. A celery plant (Apium graveolens L. dulce) having a ratio between average leaf blade length in cm and average stick length in cm of less than 1.0 and a standard deviation of stick lengths in cm within the plant of not more than 2.4 at the stage of full leaf expansion,
wherein the celery plant comprises a genetic determinant that was introduced by introgression,
wherein the genetic determinant confers the ratio between average leaf blade length in cm and average stick length in cm of less than 1.0 and a standard deviation of stick lengths in cm within the plant of not more than 2.4 at the stage of full leaf expansion, and
wherein a representative deposit of seed comprising the genetic determinant has been deposited with the NCIMB under Accession No. 41513.
