1. A plug connector to be connected, by plugging, to a mating plug connector, the plug connector comprising:
a contact carrier manufactured from an electrically insulating material,
an electrical grounding contact arranged at the contact carrier for electrical contact with the mating plug connector,
an electrically conductive housing part connected to the contact carrier, and
an electrically conductive contacting element, manufactured by a casting technique, that has a first contacting portion which bears against the housing part in an electrically contacting manner, and a second contacting portion which bears against the grounding contact in an electrically contacting manner, and electrically connects the housing part to the grounding contact,
wherein the contacting element is formed in situ via the casting technique on a preassembled unit formed by the contact carrier, the grounding contact, and the housing part,
wherein an opening is provided at the housing part for forming the contacting element in situ, through which opening material is pourable into a space associated with the contacting element to form the contacting element on the contact carrier, radially inside the housing part,
wherein the opening provides access into a casting channel formed at the contact carrier, which casting channel extends toward and surrounds a shaft portion of the grounding contact.
