1. A cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery, comprising:
a lithium metal oxide particle; and
an organic poly-phosphate or an organic poly-phosphate salt thereof forming a coating layer on at least a portion of the lithium metal oxide particle, or an organic poly-phosphonate or an organic poly-phosphonate salt thereof forming a coating layer on at least a portion of the lithium metal oxide particle,
wherein an organic ligand bond is formed between the lithium metal oxide particle and the coating layer,
wherein the organic poly-phosphate or the organic poly-phosphate salt thereof is represented by Structural Formula 1 below, and the organic poly-phosphonate or the organic poly-phosphonate salt thereof is represented by Structural Formula 2 below:

wherein, in the Structural Formulae 1 and 2 above, m is an integer from 2 to 20, R1 represents a C1-C10 hydrocarbon group substituted with a substituent group, and the substituent group includes halogen, a cyano group, a hydroxyl group, a phosphoric acid group, a carboxylic group or a salt thereof, and
wherein the lithium metal oxide particle includes a nickel-based lithium oxide represented by General Formula 1 below:
LixNiyM1−yO2  [General Formula 1]
wherein, in the General Formula 1 above, 0.95≤x≤1.08, 0.5≤y≤1, and M is at least one element selected from a group consisting of Co, Mn, Al, Zr, Ti, B, Mg and Ba.
