1. An electrical charging station comprising:
a first socket intended to be supplied with power by the mains grid and to deliver electrical power to an electric vehicle;
a casing intended to be fastened to the ground or to a wall;
a holder in or into which the first socket is fastened or integrated, said holder being movable with respect to the casing between a protected position and an exposed position, in which positions access to the first socket, from outside the casing, is prevented and permitted, respectively;
a drive driving unit for driving the holder between the protected and exposed positions, the driving unit comprising a motor and transmitting members;
a control module for controlling the drive unit; wherein the casing comprises an aperture that is blocked in the protected position and that defines an access to the first socket in the exposed position, the holder being shaped so as to block entirely the aperture in the exposed position.
