1. A respiratory pressure therapy (RPT) device for pressurising breathable air to treat a respiratory disorder in a patient, the RPT device comprising:
a flow generator configured to pressurize the breathable air;
a water reservoir dock having a cavity including at least one dock seal; and
a water reservoir configured to hold a volume of water to be used for humidification of the breathable air, the water reservoir being movable relative to the water reservoir dock between a secure position and an insecured position, the water reservoir comprising:
a reservoir base configured to hold the volume of water, the reservoir base including a heat conductive metal plate;
a reservoir lid comprising an inlet to receive the pressurized air and an outlet through which the pressurized air exits the water reservoir with added humidity;
a hinge joint to pivotally couple the reservoir lid to the reservoir base for pivotal movement between an open position and a closed position;
a seal to sealingly engage the reservoir lid and the reservoir base when the water reservoir is in the closed position; and
a latch to secure the reservoir base and the reservoir lid together,
wherein the cavity of the water reservoir dock is configured and sized to at least partially receive the water reservoir in an operative position,
wherein the water reservoir is configured to horizontally slide into the cavity of the water reservoir dock so as to be at least partially inserted into the cavity of the water reservoir dock in the operative position,
wherein the water reservoir includes an insertion end and a graspable end that is opposite to the insertion end,
wherein the insertion end is configured to be inserted into the cavity of the water reservoir dock and at least a portion of the graspable end remains exposed when the water reservoir is inserted into the cavity of the water reservoir dock in the operative position,
wherein the insertion end includes the inlet and the outlet of the reservoir lid,
wherein the graspable end remains exposed when the inlet and the outlet of the insertion end of the water reservoir sealingly engage with the at least one dock seal of the water reservoir dock,
wherein the hinge joint is positioned on the insertion end of the water reservoir and the latch is positioned on the opposite, graspable end of the water reservoir so that the hinge joint is received in the cavity of the water reservoir dock and the latch and the graspable end are exposed when the water reservoir is in the operative position,
wherein the seal is compressible to allow movement of the reservoir lid relative to the reservoir base in the closed position between at least a first position and a second position while the seal maintains sealing between the reservoir lid and the reservoir base, the seal being more compressed in the second position,
wherein the latch includes an upper latch portion provided to the reservoir lid and a lower latch portion provided to the reservoir base,
wherein the upper latch portion is latched to the lower latch portion when the water reservoir is in the closed position and allows said movement of the reservoir lid relative to the reservoir base between at least the first position and the second position,
wherein the graspable end includes an upper gripping portion provided to the reservoir lid and a lower gripping portion provided to the reservoir base, and
wherein the upper and lower gripping portions are graspable by the patient to move the reservoir lid towards the reservoir base, thus compressing the seal into the second position while the reservoir lid and the reservoir base remain latched by the latch, and thereby allow the water reservoir to move to the insecured position.
