1. A method of operating an eyepiece waveguide having a first region and a second region, the method comprising:
directing light from a first projector to impinge on a first incoupling grating (ICG);
diffracting a fraction of the light from the first projector into a first portion of the first region of the eyepiece waveguide, into a first portion of the second region, into a second portion of the second region, and out of the eyepiece waveguide;
diffracting another fraction of the light from the first projector into a second portion of the first region of the eyepiece waveguide, into a second portion of the second region, into the first portion of the second region, and out of the eyepiece waveguide;
directing light from a second projector to impinge on a second ICG;
diffracting a fraction of the light from the second projector into the first portion of the second region of the eyepiece waveguide, into the first portion of the first region, into the second portion of the first region, and out of the eyepiece waveguide; and
diffracting another fraction of the light from the second projector into the second portion of the second region of the eyepiece waveguide, into the second portion of the first region, into the first portion of the first region, and out of the eyepiece waveguide.
