1. A system for seismic data acquisition, comprising:
a data acquisition unit, comprising:
a housing, and disposed within the housing:
circuitry configured to detect and digitize seismic signals; and
communication circuitry configured to communicate the digitized seismic signals to a data retrieval unit external to the data acquisition unit, the communication circuitry comprising:
a first transmitter plate, a second transmitter plate, a first receiver plate, and a second receiver plate;
a first driver coupled to the first transmitter plate and the second transmitter plate; and
a first receiver coupled to the first receiver plate and the second receiver plate; and
the data retrieval unit, comprising:
a third receiver plate, a fourth receiver plate, a third transmitter plate, and a fourth transmitter plate;
a second receiver coupled to the third receiver plate and the fourth receiver plate;
a third driver coupled to the third transmitter plate and the fourth transmitter plate; and
an alignment structure configured to:
receive the data acquisition unit;
align the first transmitter plate with the first receiver plate to form a first capacitor;
align the second transmitter plate with the second receiver plate to form a second capacitor;
align the third transmitter plate with the third receiver plate to form a third capacitor; and
align the fourth transmitter plate with the fourth receiver plate to form a fourth capacitor;
wherein the housing serves as a dielectric layer of the first capacitor, the second capacitor, the third capacitor, and the fourth capacitor.
