1. A method of controlling an adjustable exhaust system for a marine engine, the method comprising:
receiving a vessel location of a marine vessel having an adjustable exhaust system having a bypass valve that is controllable to bypass a portion of the exhaust system;
identifying a desired position of the bypass valve based on the vessel location and/or a current time, wherein the desired position of the bypass valve is associated with a greatest noise level that does not exceed a noise constraint based on the vessel location or current time and/or does not exceed a user-instructed noise level;
identifying that the bypass valve is not in the desired position; and
generating an instruction to adjust the bypass valve to the desired position to change a noise level generated by the adjustable exhaust system.
