7 Claims

1. A catalyst support comprising at least 95% silicon carbide, having surface areas of about ≤10 m²/g and pore volumes of about ≤1 cc/g, wherein the catalyst support is devoid of both (i) clay as a binding agent for the silicon carbide, and (ii) a catalyst when formed.
