1. A cartridge assembly for a surgical stapling system, the cartridge assembly comprising:
a cartridge;
a sled assembly configured to drive fasteners through the cartridge;
a spring coupled to a coupling portion of the sled assembly; and
a knife supported by the sled assembly and having a knife arm and a blade supported by the knife arm, the knife arm configured to pivot relative to the sled assembly about a pivot pin to move the blade between a first position and a second position, the knife arm including a foot that is in contact with the spring to enable the spring to urge the foot in a distal direction and the blade in the first position as the spring extends distally from the coupling portion of the sled assembly.
