1. A marker system comprising a left-side marker mounted on a helmet and a right-side marker mounted on the helmet:
a first enclosure housing the left-side marker and a second enclosure housing the right-side marker, the first enclosure separated from the second enclosure;
a first controller in the first enclosure and a second controller in the second enclosure;
each of the first controller and the second controller electrically interfaced to a plurality of emitters, the plurality of emitters comprising visible wavelength emitters and infrared wavelength emitters, each of the first controller and the second controller configured to initiate a flow of electric current though the visible wavelength emitters or the infrared wavelength emitters causing the visible wavelength emitters or the infrared wavelength emitters to emit light, the light passing through either the first enclosure and the second enclosure;
when the first controller initiates the flow of the electric current through the visible wavelength emitters, the first controller sends a first transaction to the second controller and responsive to the second controller receiving the first transaction, the second controller initiates the flow of the electric current through the visible wavelength emitters; and
when the first controller initiates the flow of the electric current through the infrared wavelength emitters, the first controller sends a second transaction to the second controller and responsive to the second controller receiving the second transaction, the second controller initiates the flow of the electric current through the infrared wavelength emitters.
