1. A camera controller for receiving optical data signals, the camera controller configured to receive optical signals and process them, the camera controller comprising:
a first interface comprising an optical data receiver for receiving the optical data and a first engagement surface, the first engagement surface couplable with a second engagement surface, where the second engagement surface contains a first magnetic member and is an element of a camera system that comprises an optical data transmitter; and
wherein, the receiver and the transmitter are positioned to a corresponding first port and second port, and wherein the ports are fixed respectively to a corresponding first cam surface on the first interface and second cam surface on the second engagement surface, configured that when the first cam surface is mated to the second cam surface the first port and the second port are aligned to facilitate the transmission of the optical signal from the optical data transmitter to the optical data receiver.
