1. A composition comprising: (i) one or more disease antigens or a vaccine; and (ii) a compound of formula:

(a)
R2 is selected from H, OH, CH3, and OCH3;
R4 is selected from H, OH, and OCH3;
R5 is selected from H, CH3, and C2H5;
R2′ is selected from H and OH;
R3′ is selected from H and OCH3;
R4′ is selected from H, CH3, C2H5, CH(CH3)2, OCH3, Ph, F, and I; and
R5′ is selected from H, CH3, and OCH3; or
R3′ and R4′ can be taken together as CH═CH—CH═CH; or
R4′ and R5′ can be taken together as CH═CH—CH═CH, or
wherein two of R2, R4, and R5 may be optionally connected, and two of R2′, R3′, R4′, and R5′ may be optionally connected;
or
(b)
R2 is selected from H, OH, CH3, and OCH3;
R4 is selected from H, OH, and OCH3;
R5 is H;
R2′ is selected from H and OH;
R3′ is selected from H and OCH3;
R4′ is selected from H, CH3, C2H5, OCH3, Ph, F, and I; and
R5′ is selected from H; or
R3′ and R4′ can be taken together as CH═CH—CH═CH; or
R4′ and R5′ can be taken together as CH═CH—CH═CH, or
wherein two of R2, R4, and R5 may be optionally connected, and two of R2′, R3′, R4′, and R5′ may be optionally connected.
