8. A method performed by a computing device, the method comprising:
receiving a check-in request from a particular managed device;
based at least on the check-in request, determining a particular enterprise service associated with the particular managed device, the particular enterprise service being accessible to the computing device over a computer network;
receiving generic configuration data over the computer network from the particular enterprise service associated with the particular managed device;
based at least on hardware or software characteristics of the particular managed device, translating the generic configuration data into device-specific provisioning commands adapted to the hardware or software characteristics of the particular managed device; and
sending the device-specific provisioning commands to the particular managed device.
