said device having a device first bone-facing surface and an opposed device second bone-facing surface and having a central opening extending from said device first bone-facing surface to said device second bone-facing surface,
said device comprising a metallic component and a remainder of said device, said metallic component and said remainder of said device being mechanically joined to each other, said metallic component having a metallic component first bone-facing surface and an opposed metallic component second bone-facing surface,
wherein said metallic component comprises an anchoring screw hole passing through an anterior surface of said metallic component and continuing at least partially through either said metallic component first bone-facing surface or said metallic component second bone-facing surface, said anchoring screw hole having an anchoring screw hole internal surface,
wherein either said metallic component first bone-facing surface or said metallic component second bone-facing surface comprises both a substantially-solid metal region and a porous metal region, and
wherein said porous metal region is located such that (a) no portion of an anchoring screw hole internal surface comprises any of said porous metal region; or (b) no more than 10% of said anchoring screw hole internal surface comprises said porous metal region.
