1. A method comprising:
obtaining, by a processing system including at least one processor deployed in a telecommunication network, a first network event data set associated with a telephone number, wherein the first network event data set comprises at least identifier matching data associated with the telephone number, wherein the identifier matching data associated with the telephone number comprises data indicative of whether a change has occurred regarding at least one identifier associated with the telephone number, wherein the at least one identifier comprises a subscriber identity module identifier;
applying, by the processing system, an input data set comprising at least the first network event data set to a machine learning model implemented by the processing system to obtain an authenticity score associated with the telephone number, wherein the machine learning model is configured to generate the authenticity score associated with the telephone number in accordance with the input data set;
obtaining, by the processing system, a request from a first authentication service for the authenticity score associated with the telephone number; and
transmitting, by the processing system, the authenticity score associated with the telephone number to the first authentication service in response to the request.
