1. A system, comprising:
a computing device comprising a processor and a memory; and
machine-readable instructions stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, cause the computing device to at least:
detect a network connection loss for the computing device to a wide area network;
receive, via a local area network, a request for a verifiable credential for a decentralized identifier from a client device, the request comprising a first digital signature of the client device;
generate a mutually signed request that includes a second digital signature executed by the computing device and the first digital signature of the client device;
transmit, via the local area network, the mutually signed request to the client device;
detect a network connection to the wide area network;
validate the decentralized identifier using the wide area network based at least in part on the mutually signed request; and
generate the verifiable credential for the decentralized identifier based at least in part on the validation of the decentralized identifier.
