1. A method for hemp determination of a cannabis sample, comprising:
measuring, by a gas chromatography/mass spectrometer device, a headspace gas associated with a cannabis sample to acquire a set of data for the headspace gas;
accessing, by a computer system, the set of data for the headspace gas;
transforming, by the computer system, the set of data for the headspace gas into one or more heat map images based on retention time, scan range, and signal intensities in the set of data, wherein the signal intensities are represented by heat signatures in the heat map images; and
assessing the one or more heat map images using a convolutional neural network, wherein the convolutional neural network categorizes the cannabis sample associated with the headspace gas as being either hemp or non-hemp based on image data in the heat map images.
